Set up Western Bid

Follow these steps to connect Western Bid and accept PayPal or Stripe payments in your shop.

Connect your Western Bid account

Note: setting this up on a computer is easier than on a phone.
  1. 1) Add products to your shop. Before you apply, your shop needs at least 1 active product — otherwise Western Bid won't approve the payment integration. Western Bid reviews your shop page and the products you sell, so it's better to have more than one. Open the Products tab
  2. 2) Log in or register. Log in to your Western Bid account, or register a new one. westernbid.com
  3. 3) Verify your profile. Verify your Western Bid profile by following their registration documents guide. Registration documents
  4. 4) Create an application. On the Western Bid site, open «Setting up payments for an online store» in the left menu, then click «Create an application». Your contacts (name, login, email, phone) are filled in from your Western Bid profile — check that they are correct. Then fill in «Information about the store»:
    • «Product range of your store» — describe what products you are going to sell on Craftic, e.g. "Handmade ceramic mugs, plates and vases".
    • «Manufacturer of your product» — write who exactly makes your products, e.g. "I make all products myself by hand in my own workshop".
    • «Country of origin» — the country where your products are made.
    • «CMS (website builder) for your store» — https://craftic.shop/. Note that you are connecting to a marketplace, not to your own website.
    • «Link to your store» — https://craftic.shop/shop/shop_name. You should use the link to your shop page on Craftic.
    • Click «Submit application».
  5. 5) Receive your credentials. Western Bid will send you an email with your Client ID and Secret.
  6. 6) Enter details and save. Client ID and Secret are entered here on Craftic, not on the Western Bid site. Fill in the Western Bid section on your shop's Financial tab. Open the Financial tab
    • «Client ID» — paste the Client ID from the Western Bid email.
    • «Secret» — paste the Secret from the same email. It is stored encrypted.
    • «Accept PayPal» and «Accept Stripe» — these switches choose which payment buttons buyers see at checkout. When a switch is on, buyers can pay for your products with that method, and the payment goes through your Western Bid account. When it is off, that button is hidden. Keep at least one of them on, otherwise buyers won't be able to pay you via Western Bid.
    • If a switch is greyed out with «Not available for your shop yet», this payment method hasn't been enabled for your shop yet, so it can't be turned on for now.
    • Click «Save».
  7. 7) Start selling. That's it — your shop can now accept PayPal and Stripe payments, and buyers can pay for your products. If you need any help, please contact our support or Western Bid support.
