How to choose handmade jewelry

Length and fit. Compare a necklace's listed length with one you own, and think about where it falls against your usual necklines. For bracelets, measure your wrist and add a little room.

Materials. If you react to certain metals, check what the clasps and ear wires are made of, and ask the shop if the listing doesn't say.

Care. Beadwork dislikes water, perfume and hair spray. Put it on last and store it flat so the threads don't kink.

Custom requests

Some shops accept custom requests, such as a gerdan in your wedding colors or a necklace in a specific length. You describe the idea, the shop decides whether to take it on and agrees the details with you, then publishes an item at the agreed price that only you can see. You buy it like any other order.

FAQ

Each shop sets its own cancellation and return policy. Where returns are accepted, the window is 14 to 90 days from delivery.
