How to choose handmade home decor
Rugs. A kilim is a flat-woven rug with no pile that works on the floor or the wall. Wool is durable; cotton is lighter and easier to wash. Find them in rugs and mats.
Size. Measure before you order. Dimensions are listed in centimeters; check whether a cushion cover comes with an insert.
Candles. For candles and holders, read the safety notes, trim the wick before each burn and never leave a lit candle unattended.
Care. Vacuum rugs gently, spot-clean spills and follow the care notes for textiles.
Custom requests
Some shops accept custom requests, such as a rug woven to fit your hallway or cushion covers to match your sofa. You describe what you want, the shop decides whether to take it on and agrees the details with you, then publishes an item at the agreed price that only you can see. You buy it as a normal order.
